Too Soon
(50 words)

Half awake from the heavy press of a reclining body. The mattress shifts. For just a moment, the warm squeeze of a hand on her shoulder. Breath against her ear.

"I need to tell you something," an intimate whisper.

"Tell me what?" She rolls over, realizing it was a dream.

I love trying to deconstruct the meaning behind the titles. Woke up too soon?

I'm interested in how several of your short-short things (and even some longer ones? I'm thinking of the Penelo-picks-a-tomato opening scene while Noah's lying in the tent?) rely less on sentences, and more on fragments of sensation to create a style. Is that a personal evolution, or have you found it successfully used elsewhere?
